Participants set out from Pier No. 1, passing Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park and the Sheung Wan and Central sections of the Central and Western District Promenade, before walking to the Wan Chai Promenade and arriving at Wan Chai Waterfront Park. The full route took about two hours. According to event information, the Victoria Harbour waterfront was blessed with crisp autumn weather that day, while flags flew along the walking procession as participants responded in action to the call to “help one another with benevolence”, creating a warm and lively scene.

According to the event information, during the 96 years since its founding, the Hong Kong Chiu Chow Mutual Aid Society (香港潮商互助社) has remained committed to the principle of “unity and mutual assistance, helping those in hardship and danger”, serving the community and giving back to society. The society opened a Western medicine clinic as early as 1958 and introduced free medical care and medicine-dispensing services. For 68 years, it has provided appropriate and affordable medical services to grassroots residents, benefiting many people.
In recent years, the society has launched the “Central and Western District Elderly Health Service Programme” (「中西區長者健康服務計劃」) and the “Realising the Dreams of the Elderly Together Programme” (「同夢耆圓計劃」) to care for older people living in poverty. Since September 2026, it has also participated in the Social Welfare Department’s “Carer-Friendly Shops Scheme for Carers of the Elderly and Persons with Disabilities” (「護老者及殘疾人士照顧者友善商戶計劃」), providing dedicated discounts for carers in the district and continuing to expand its social-service work.
Event information records that, in his speech, 孫淑強, chairman of the society’s council, said the significance of the charity walk went beyond raising funds: it also lay in uniting the strength of all sectors of society and turning care into practical support, so that grassroots residents, older people and disadvantaged communities could continue to receive appropriate medical care and attention. He thanked all co-organising and supporting organisations, donors, directors, volunteers and staff, and expressed the hope that all sectors of society would continue working together to promote the spirit of doing good and helping others.
